Another complete basement renovation consisting of full demolition, reconfiguration of existing walls and creation of a new three piece bathroom! We started by removing all materials from the walls, floor and ceiling. Exterior walls were rebuilt using 2x4 framing, insulation, vapour barrier, drywall and electrical outlets prior to being finished with primer and paint. The wall at the stairs was removed and finished with custom oak railing allowing for a more open space. Access to the furnace room was moved to the other side of the wall which allowed for more space in the new bathroom as well as moving the central vacuum. In order to expand the amount of storage options three closets were added to the plan; one large closet in the small room, and two linen closets in and near the bathroom. LED pot lights were used in the smooth ceilings with premium laminate as the flooring. The stairs were capped with oak treads and risers and stained to match the new laminate flooring. The three piece bathroom consisted of a new toilet, acrylic shower, vanity and one-of-a-kind petrified wood sink. Premium porcelain tile was used for the flooring, along with the baseboard trim.
